About 50% of the accidents that we get in the winter are because people don’t outfit their cars properly. Check your tires – make sure they have good tread and have the correct amount of air in them. Remember that the air in your tires contracts and expands depending on the temperature. In cold weather you may need to add a little more air to make sure you have the recommended tire pressure because in the cold the air contracts.

It is imperative that you outfit your car for the winter. Of course, we will come and [...]

2012 Campaign to Help End Hunger in Waldo County - Totman's In the Community

Each year Totman’s works to raise money and food for a local food pantry. A local group of quilters, Mickey’s Angels, saw our efforts and donated a hand-made quilt to raffle for this year’s efforts to help end hunger in Waldo County! The quilt is absolutely gorgeous – pictures don’t do it justice.

All proceeds from the quilt raffle will go to the Belfast Soup Kitchen. Raffle winner will be drawn at our annual Holiday Open House, Saturday, December 15, 2012.

Raffle tickets can be purchased at Totman’s at 369 Augusta Road in Belmont (across from Maritime Farms) for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Please support our efforts to help make sure no one goes hungry in Waldo County and consider buying a raffle ticket or two if you’re able.

Our annual food drive also begins on October 31 and runs through New Year’s when the food donations will be delivered to the local [...]

Totman’s has been active in the local community since opening in 1994, primarily in the area of assisting area fire departments with donating vehicles for educating firefighters and emergency responders. Sometimes training sessions are held in different areas and often they are held at Totman’s yard. We are proud to assist our local rescue personnel in ensuring the safe recovery of accident victims in Waldo and Knox Counties. This year Totman’s also awarded two scholarships to Waldo County Technical Center (WCTC) graduates who are continuing their education in the automotive area. Here are some examples of how Totman’s participates in our local community:
