This guy was driving down the road, coming around a sharp bend on a “foggy” night (he thinks it was foggy anyway) at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a 90-degree corner completely and went straight. Went straight over the guy’s lawn (airborne as he came off the road), accelerated as he landed, tore up the guy’s lawn, took out an 8″ apple tree, sent the tree flying over 100 feet, then jumped the septic system, went through the woods between two trees just barely wide enough to fit the vehicle, crushing in both sides of the vehicle, causing the car to start to spin as he flew over a 4-foot wall, while taking out several good-sized trees as he continued through the woods and landed about 20 feet [...]

- Comments Off on Ready for Winter?
Winter? REALLY? Yep, it’s coming! Despite all the warmth this fall, my ride with Brian on the motorcycle last night finally convinced me that it may have been the last ride of the year. It was COLD! Bummer, BUT winter in Maine is beautiful, and it’s why most of us live here is to enjoy the four seasons. Part of that enjoyment is being PREPARED.
Is your vehicle ready? Have you checked your tires, antifreeze, windshield washer fluid that won’t freeze, and overall condition of your brakes and suspension for winter? Give us a call and we’ll go over it for you to make sure it’s safe to drive and get you through.
This winter is projected to be as challenging as last year – don’t wait til you’re calling us to winch you out or tow you. We don’t mind going out to get ya, but prefer making sure you’re safe so [...]

One of our towing stories from our website was published (with permission), reflecting only one of many silly and funny situations we deal with in our daily work.
Fortunately, no one was injured in this situation, but it definitely was a lesson to the owner that there was NOWHERE that his dog could not get out of when he gets anxious!

- Comments Off on Totman’s In The Community
Totman’s has been active in the local community since opening in 1994, primarily in the area of assisting area fire departments with donating vehicles for educating firefighters and emergency responders. Sometimes training sessions are held in different areas and often they are held at Totman’s yard. We are proud to assist our local rescue personnel in ensuring the safe recovery of accident victims in Waldo and Knox Counties. This year Totman’s also awarded two scholarships to Waldo County Technical Center (WCTC) graduates who are continuing their education in the automotive area. Here are some examples of how Totman’s participates in our local community:

- Comments Off on “Focus” On This Flood
(NOTE: all pictures and content Copyright 1994 – 2015 Totman Enterprises. Absolutely no copying or use without express WRITTEN consent of Totman Enterprises.)
An unusual amount of rain dumped on eastern Maine last week, resulting in accidents and flash flooding around the State. This actually was a wooden bridge that had just been crossed by a pickup and was followed by the Focus, thinking that the bridge was just slightly under the top of the water, when in fact it had collapsed. It doesn’t look like too much water in the pics, but the car was actually submerged enough for water to be flowing over the seats when we got there.
Turned out to be a rental car – OOPS. Good thing for insurance, huh?
